Workshop on wave energy converter technology requirement specification and performance metrics

26.Feb.2016
EICC, Edinburgh

Joint United States Department of Energy and Wave Energy Scotland workshop on wave energy converter technology requirement specification and performance metrics

The US Department of Energy (DOE) and Wave Energy Scotland (WES) are organizing a joint workshop on wave energy convert (WEC) system requirements and performance metrics. The goal of the workshop is to reach out to the wider wave energy community to facilitate input into the important specification of WEC system requirements and the formulation of performance metrics.

This workshop contributes to the system requirement specification and technology performance level (TPL) developments in the Structured Innovation project at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) and progresses the definition of performance metrics to be used in the stage gate funding approach by WES.

Active participation in this workshop will be of value for technology developers, supporting OEMs, certifying bodies as well as the private investment and financing community and public funding bodies.

Attendees are invited to register with ashleigh.finlayson@hient.co.uk in order to receive relevant documentation prior to the workshop.

The OES is organised under the auspices of the International Energy Agency (IEA) but is functionally and legally autonomous. Views, findings and publications of the OES do not necessarily represent the views or policies of the IEA Secretariat or its individual member countries.
