Environmental Impact Assessment of a Wave Energy Converter: Wave Dragon

Date: October 15, 2013 at 20:36 GMT

Abstract: Exploitation of the energy bound in ocean waves is making technological and economical progress and with a looming global energy crisis there is a greater need to harness this near limitless energy. Thankfully, there is the potential to harness enough near shore wave energy to supply up to 50 % of the World’s demand for electricity.

Still, the different wave energy converters (WEC’s) need to show more competitive production costs in order to be able to compete with other matured renewable energy technologies.
