Metocean Improvements for Wave Energy Converters Performance Assessment

Date: November 04, 2013 at 17:27 GMT

Accurate sea-states descriptions are more and more required to correctly assess the wave climate. This paper presents some preliminary results of space and time coherence algorithms whose use is aimed at improving the knowledge of the actual evolution of swells and wind-sea wave systems travelling over oceanic areas. Knowing better the time and space wave variability may benefit the further technological developments of marine renewables such as the deployment of wave energy converters in wave-farms along European coastlines.
