The performance of a turbine is a result of the flowfield at the rotor which is largely induced by the rotor wake. This is especially important in situations where there is a strong spatio-temporal variation in rotor inflow such as a turbine operating in yaw or in the wake of another turbine - indeed these off-design conditions often pose a problem when modelling these devices. An alternative solution strategy is presented which aims to deal with the most common shortcomings of traditional methods.
