Abstract: Wind turbine technology has undergone a maturation process in the last decades. A similar development is awaited for wave and tidal energy, too.
The paper presents a comprehensive comparison of these technologies and highlights in which way wave and tidal energy can benefit most from the lessons learned in wind energy.
