Abstract: The Basque Government’s commitment to research and development in the field of the use of kinetic wave energy to produce electricity has found an immediate answer from Basque industry.
The Cluster de Energía together with Ente Vasco de Energía have prepared a first catalogue of companies in the Basque Country that make up the technological value chain to manufacture energy converters, experiment platforms, and, in general, all the necessary specialities for the establishment of new business in this field.
This investment initiative has favoured some agreements and joint ventures among companies from different countries in order to cover new specialities and to give better technological solutions to the numerous problems arising.
This paper will not only detail the current range but also the development niches to be activated.
