Abstract: This paper describes the background of Pulse Tidal ltd, and the Pulse Stream tidal power concept that the company is developing. It describes the outline design of the Pulse Stream Commercial Demonstrator, whose development is being part funded through an 8M Euro FP7 grant.
The potential for channel blockage and augmentation to enhance the apparent kinetic resource is discussed, and the work being carried out by the PSCD consortium is this area is outlined. The consortium behind the project is described, and the reasons behind its success in raising EC funding are listed.
