OES at MARIBE closing event

Posted 2016-09-02 in News

OES was invited to participate in the closing event of the H2020 European funded project MARIBE and to partake in a discussion panel on multi-use of maritime space.

This panel discussion took place on the 30th of August, at MAREI, the Centre for Marine and Renewable Energy in Cork, Ireland.

The panel comprised a mix of experts, companies and MARIBE partners involved in the project thus far. The discussion was focused on the following questions:

1. Are our seas crowded? How urgent is the need to save space?
2. How important is government support to multi-use of space and multi-use platform projects?
3. What is the real potential for MUS and MUP projects to provide jobs and stimulate growth?

MARIBE stands for “Marine Investment for the Blue Economy” and identifies key opportunities for synergistic collaboration between different maritime sectors including ocean energy.

You can check the conclusions of the project on the website: www.maribe.eu
