Development and Application of a Marine Energy Resource Database

Date: October 08, 2013 at 21:59 GMT

Abstract: A marine measurement database has been produced for use within the European Commission funded EquiMar project.

This database is intended to facilitate the transfer of wave and tidal resource data between the project partners. The database takes the form of summary metadata and detailed data files which are accessed through a website interface. The database contains details of over 100 wave, tidal and wind instrumentations across Europe. Applications of the data include appraisal of wave and tidal resource assessment methodologies and the provision of validation data for numerical model intercomparison.
