Task 10 focus on the numerical modeling of Wave Energy Converters

71458-task-10.pngOES Task 10 focused on the numerical modeling of WECs (Wave Energy Converters), was recently announced as one of the ten projects supported by the U.S. TEAMER - Testing Expertise and Access for Marine Energy Research program through its ninth Request for Technical Support (RFTS). This gives the opportunity for North American national laboratories, specifically Sandia National Laboratories and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, to collaborate in this IEA-OES task.

The collaborative work under this Task aims to share expertise numerical modelling of wave energy devices and contribute to the international assessment and validation process of numerical codes currently developed by different teams.

A group of experts meet regularly and discuss their methodologies, assessing the accuracy and establishing confidence in the use of numerical models, validating a range of existing computational modeling tools and to define future research needed to improve the computational tools and methods.

More information on this task is available here.
