Posted 2026-04-02 in News

Representatives from 17 countries met online on 31 March and 1 April to discuss strategic priorities, 2026 workplans, ICOE preparations and international collaboration.

The 53rd Executive Committee Meeting of IEA-OES was held across two online sessions on 31 March and 1 April 2026, bringing together representatives from 17 countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania.

The meeting focused on key priorities for the years ahead, including the approval of the new five-year Strategic Plan, the 2026 Communication Plan, and the Task workplans for 2026. Delegates also discussed preparations for ICOE 2026, as well as the open call for hosting ICOE 2028.

Further discussions covered the new policy report, Technology Push & Market Pull, the global progress of wave energy, and opportunities for closer collaboration with International WaTERS.

As ocean energy continues its transition from demonstration to larger-scale deployment, international dialogue and coordinated action remain essential to support progress across the sector.

IEA-OES thanks all delegates for their active participation and continued commitment to advancing ocean energy worldwide.
